Platt National Park Now Part of Chickasaw National Recreation Area
Historical Significance
The former Platt National Park, established in 1906, has been incorporated into the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. This expansion includes six campgrounds, providing a diverse range of options for outdoor enthusiasts.
Campground Facilities
The campgrounds cater to both tent and RV camping. Four of the six campgrounds are accessible year-round, while two offer seasonal operations. The Point Campground stands out as a family-friendly lakeside location near Sulphur town.

Buckhorn Campground offers a serene atmosphere suitable for families. Its proximity to the Buckhorn Recreation Area and the Sulphur Veterans Lake makes it a popular destination.
