Carlos Alcaraz retains Wimbledon title with dominant display against Novak Djokovic
Spanish star becomes first player to win back-to-back men's singles titles since Rafael Nadal in 2010
Alcaraz powered to victory in straight sets, winning 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4)
Carlos Alcaraz has successfully defended his Wimbledon title with a largely one-sided 6-2 6-2 7-6 victory over Novak Djokovic.
The Spanish star becomes the first player to win back-to-back men's singles titles since Rafael Nadal in 2010.
Alcaraz powered to victory in straight sets, dominating Djokovic from the outset.
The 19-year-old broke Djokovic's serve twice in the first set and three times in the second set to take a commanding lead.
Djokovic managed to break back in the third set, but Alcaraz held on to win the tie-break 7-4.
The win is a major boost for Alcaraz, who is now ranked world number one.
It is also a disappointing result for Djokovic, who was hoping to win his seventh Wimbledon title.
