Chelsea appoint Mauricio Pochettino as new manager

Former Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain boss takes over at Stamford Bridge

Pochettino signs a three-year contract with the Blues

London, England - Chelsea have appointed Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager on a three-year contract.

The Argentine coach has been out of work since leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, but he has now returned to the Premier League with one of the biggest clubs in the country.

Pochettino has a good track record in England, having guided Tottenham to the Champions League final in 2019. He also won the Ligue 1 title with PSG last season.

Chelsea are hoping that Pochettino can bring similar success to Stamford Bridge. The Blues have not won a major trophy since 2017, and they will be looking to Pochettino to challenge for the Premier League title and the Champions League.

Pochettino said he was "delighted" to be joining Chelsea, and he promised to "work hard to bring success back to the club."

"I have always admired Chelsea's tradition and ambition, and I am excited to be part of the next chapter in the club's history," Pochettino said.
